Below is pasted from the overview page

Jetstar is once again hiring significant numbers of direct entry pilots from the Australian/NZ regional and GA sector. However it’s the only major airline that will be hiring in significant numbers, with positions at Virgin, QantasLink and Air New Zealand down to minimal levels for the foreseeable future.

There has been a significant structural shift within the industry over the past few years, with airlines now sourcing a greater percentage of their flight crew from cadetships.

Other factors that have changed the industry:

·         The ADF graduate around 120 pilots per year, all of whom might be looking to join a major airline. With Qantas and Cathay Pacific no longer options, the competition can be fierce.

·         Around 75% of the 2000 Turboprop Pilots in Australia and New Zealand are interested in a job with a major airline.

It’s revealing to look at the major airline hiring scenario five years ago, compared to now.

As you can see, the industry is more competitive than ever – only 1 out of 10 candidates will obtain a pilot position with a major Australian airline.

With such intense competition, candidates need to perform well in all selection stages. And the kind of scores that were acceptable in past years will no longer be competitive.

PATS are experts in preparing people to obtain high scores in the aptitude and psychometric testings commonly used for direct entry pilot positions. In fact, we aim to train you to a level of performance where you score in the top 5% of applicants.

In particular we specialise in preparing you for aptitude testing with Jetstar, Virgin, Tiger and Cobham.
